This page is the statutory legal notice for clemence.io. The Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz replaced the Telemediengesetz in May 2024, so the obligation now sits in § 5 DDG rather than in § 5 TMG.

§ 5 Abs. 1 Nr. 2 DDG requires details that allow rapid electronic contact. A contact form is accepted for this purpose in current German practice, and it is the owner’s decision to rely on one. If a lawyer advises that an address is required in addition, add it here and nowhere else.

No telephone number is published. § 5 DDG does not require one.

Value added tax

One of the two applies and the owner must say which. A VAT identification number is stated under § 27a Umsatzsteuergesetz. A sole trader invoicing as a Kleinunternehmer under § 19 UStG states that instead and issues invoices without VAT.

Responsible for editorial content

Clemence W. Chee, at the address above, is responsible for the content of this site under § 18 Abs. 2 Medienstaatsvertrag (MStV).

The obligation is separate from § 5 DDG and it names a natural person. Both point at the same person here.

Consumer dispute resolution

Clemence W. Chee is neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

§ 36 Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz (VSBG) applies the obligation to businesses above ten employees. A sole trader falls below that threshold and states the position rather than staying silent on it.

Do not add a link to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform. That platform ceased operations on 20 July 2025 and the link goes nowhere.

Liability for content

Clemence W. Chee is responsible for the content of this site under general law, per § 7 Abs. 1 DDG.

Under § 8 to § 10 DDG there is no obligation to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information, or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block content under general law remain unaffected. Any such liability begins at the point a concrete infringement becomes known.

External links on this site point at content that other people control.

Linked pages were checked for obvious legal problems when the link was created. Continuous monitoring of linked content without concrete evidence of an infringement is not reasonable. Links are removed when an infringement becomes known.
